Most routine consultations done in traditional practice can take place in the home. Some typical examples are listed below:

  • Vaccinations for dogs, cats and rabbits: initial courses for youngsters, boosters and ‘catch-up’ courses for adults.
  • Health progress checks and repeat prescriptions for example: diabetic, thyroid, kidney, Cushings and epileptic patients.
  • Diagnostic testing including bloods, urinalysis, aspirates.
  • 24 hour emergency service for registered clients.
  • Palliative ‘hospice’ care.
  • Compassionate euthanasia.
  • Veterinary ambulance transport.
  • Nail clipping and anal gland expressing.
  • Microchip identification/implanting.
  • Dispensary and home delivery of parasitic treatments and prescription diets.
  • Passports for pets travelling abroad.

Should your pet require further tests (eg radiography, endoscopy, ultrasonography), surgery or intensive care we can arrange for this to be performed at a local practice.

In the event of an emergency we will attend if appropriate but if speed is of the essence it may be preferable that your pet is taken straight to a surgery where there are intensive care facilities. We will endeavour to provide first aid treatment eg. pain relief and intravenous fluids which can be given to stabilize a patient before embarking on a journey to a surgery but ultimately the responsibility has to remain with the owner to make arrangements. We will always do our utmost to help.
